I have received several emails from ebookpromoguys@gmail.com. I have no recollection of having contacted this company. Consequently their messages are, to my knowledge wholly unsolicited by me. Has anyone come across this organisation? They are doing a hard sell concerning their ability to “promote” author’s work. I have no intention of signing up with ebookpromoguys but was wondering whether I am the only person receiving these missives.
Kevin
AVOID THEM KEVIN and EVERYONE – they were only registered on 29 December 2014 – see the scant details at:

Thanks for the information Chris. I will, as you suggest avoid this company. Kind regards. Kevin
I received an email from Ebook Promo Guys to promote my book Whispers of the Falls which promised 5 days free and then it would be $12 a month. I cancelled after four days because my sales did not increase. When I got my credit card bill they had charged me the $12. $99. and $132. I emailed them and asked what the charges were for. They stopped emailing me and would not return my calls when I tried to call them. I contacted the BBB in Texas but they need an address to do an investigation. If anyone knows the address I’d love to know. Contact me at teresagreene5041@yahoo.com
Thank you for your comment Teresa. I was sorry to read of your experience. I know in the UK that credit card companies are obliged to refund unauthorised charges provided the card holder has evidence to proove they where not approved by them. Have you gone to your card provider with the communications from the company and asked that they furnish a refund or are the rules in Texas different from those here in the UK? Kind regards. Kevin
Can anyone advise Teresa?
Many thanks for your comment Chris. I know that in the UK unauthorised credit card transactions must be refunded by the credit card company provided the holder has behaved properly. If the law is the same in Texas as it is here in the UK and Teresa has all the relevant information to show what has happened, I would have thought that the credit company should refund her monies. Thanks again. Kevin
This website may be helpful (https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/cpd/credit-cards). Kevin
Thanks Kevin 😀
You are welcome Chris. On checking the emails I have received from Ebookpromoguys I note that the message footer contains the following information which is, I assume their address: Ebook Pro 107 2nd st Winter Park, FL 32789
I’ve just checked it out on Google Maps and street view Kevin – it’s a rundown looking place – STEER CLEAR my friend!
Thanks Chris! Kevin
I never trust anyone who’s pushy no matter who they are, or say they are.
Thanks Tess. I think you are right. Kevin

I think it might be because you are a blogger maybe? I get sent emails from companies who actually expect me to blog about their brand/product and advertise them for free but they don’t actually say that’s what they are for. Either that or just regular advertising spam.
Thanks for your comment. You may be right although, in this case I think they targeted me owing to my connection with books, I.E. they thought I might use them to sell my work. Best, Kevin
BE WARNED, avoid them like the plague! I paid them $6 for a one day promo only to find they helped themselves to a furth FIFTY NINE DOLLARS three weeks later. I’m not the only one they have done this to.
Thank you for your comment and please accept my apologies for the delay in replying. Your feedback is potentially useful to fellow authors. Thanks again. Kevin
Stay FAR FAR AWAY from these slimy guys. Unfortunately I got taken by these guys and I’ve filed a dispute with my credit card company after receiving no response from them.
I bought a 3-day promo in December. Then in January and February, they charged me $99, $319, and $189 (ouch). Once I saw the charges on my statement, I immediately tried to contact them via phone and email. No response on either end. I started a dispute with my credit card company, but they were reluctant at first to begin proceedings, because according to their records, the site had signed me up for “recurring charges”. I convinced them that this was fraudulent activity, because the links they have set up on their site to contact them don’t work, and I had no way to cancel these so-called “recurring charges”. If you look at their Terms and Conditions http://ebookpro.org/services-terms-and-conditions.html:
“The member may cancel their services, subscription or membership within three days of submitting their payment information. The user hereby acknowledges that upon submitting their credit/debit card information, the user is opting-in to membership which includes a monthly maintenance fee subject to change at any time and for any reason (see fee schedule for current fees). ”
ie. as soon as you give them your credit card information, you’re agreeing to let them charge you whatever they want! How crazy is that??? They sneak that in because nobody ever reads these things anyways.
I also canceled my card so they can’t put through any additional charges.
Anyways, thanks for the rant, but don’t give these scamsters any of your money!
