The dress she bought
Was cheap and short.
The bus she caught.
The vehicle’s slow pace
Her burning face.
Barely coping.
For salvation hoping.
Groping
For a way out.
Inwardly she shouts.
People are about
Staring
She is almost beyond caring.
A suburban place
His flushed face.
A girl’s disgrace.
How very common place.
It stings when people stare and judge you for what you are wearing. Sometimes even when I’ve been in the most decent clothes covering all skin try can be covered I’ve been arrested at for I’m a woman. Period. This attitude stinks… 😦 But most women grow up with this and teach themselves to live with it.
Many thanks for your comment. I’m sorry to learn that you have been discriminated against for being a woman. It goes without saying that men and women are equal and both sexes should be treated with respect. Which country are you living in if you dont mind me asking? Best wishes, Kevin
Absolutely! I Believe in equality as well. I haven’t faced strong discrimination but some episodes like being stared at etc has happened to me on multiple occasions. I grew up in different cities in India but now live in Scotland 🙂
I’m sorry you have been stared at and I hope you are now happy living in Scotland. Strangely, I’ve visited both Sri Lanka and China (both far away from my home in England) but I’ve never visited Scotland which is so close to England!
Not all of India is bad honestly but these episodes do happen here and there. Scotland is beautiful, not my first time in the UK but my first time in Scotland. If you ever were to visit her, it’ll be lovely to see you 🙂
Thank you. That is very kind of you to say so and I shall certainly let you know when I visit Scotland. All the best, Kevin Virus-free. http://www.avast.com
